Hi there,
Happy Thanksgiving! Welcome back to ‘Hey Coach Darren’!
This week’s edition is a bit different – instead of introducing a new topic, I’ll be sharing a few top tips that are very relevant to today since, if you’re anything like me, you will likely be eating a bit more than usual.
Before the tips however, I’d like to express my gratitude this Thanksgiving to the readers of this newsletter! I appreciate you reading this email every week, and I hope they are helping you become happier, healthier, and stronger!
And as a special token of my thankfulness, I’m doing a special giveaway only for the readers of the ‘Hey Coach Darren’ newsletter.
The first 3 people to text me at 650-389-5582 will receive a 21-Day Holiday Metabolism Fix Challenge, for free!
So after you eat your turkey, check out the tips below, but make sure you act fast and shoot me a text! This giveaway is only for today, and only the first 3 readers (of thousands) will win – so don’t nap after the stuffing!
Here are my top tips for navigating this holiday:
Start the Day with a Healthy Breakfast: Kick off Thanksgiving morning with a nutrient-rich breakfast that includes protein, healthy fats, and fiber. This will keep you feeling satisfied and help prevent overindulging later.
For example, try scrambled eggs with avocado on whole-grain toast or a smoothie with Greek yogurt, spinach, and berries. Starting the day with balance can set the tone for mindful eating throughout the holiday.
Downsize Your Plate to Manage Portions: When it’s time to enjoy the Thanksgiving feast, consider using a smaller plate to help control portion sizes. Research shows that we tend to eat less when we use smaller plates, as it tricks our brain into feeling satisfied with less food.
This simple strategy allows you to enjoy all your favorite dishes while avoiding overeating. Remember, you can always go back for seconds if you’re truly still hungry.
Take a Walk After Dinner: After Thanksgiving dinner, encourage your family or friends to join you for a post-meal walk. Not only will this help with digestion, but it also creates an opportunity to bond and share laughs together while burning off a few calories.
Even a short 15-20 minute stroll can make a difference in how you feel and help keep you from diving back into the leftovers too quickly.
I hope these tips help you have a fun and healthy Thanksgiving with your family and friends!
Stay tuned for next week’s ‘Hey Coach Darren’ where I’ll be sharing more valuable tips to help you become happier, healthier, and stronger.
Stronger Together,
Coach Darren
